Third appointment with Zona Luce: the FIGC and Scholas social project within Nisida

Another 7 meetings are scheduled which will conclude the activity at the beginning of March

The staff of the FIGC Youth and School Sector and of the Scholas Occurrentes Foundation returns to Nisida for a new appointment with Zona Luce.

The third training meeting of the social project for prison officers and inmates of the Campania juvenile prison took place last Tuesday, January 19. A program of ten sessions of activities in the field to promote integration and rehabilitation for those categories in conditions of hardship or marginalization through football, with the training of sports instructors.

An activity aimed at » rebuilding the global educational pact – taking up the words of Pope Francis – a meeting to revive the commitment for and with the younger generations, renewing the passion for a more open and inclusive education, capable of patient listening, constructive dialogue and mutual understanding. Never before has there been a need to join efforts in a broad educational alliance to form mature people, capable of overcoming fragmentation and contrasts and rebuilding the fabric of relationships for a more fraternal humanity ”.

At the same time as sporting activity, the impact of the entire project is monitored, both within the prison facilities and possibly at the local sports clubs in collaboration with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan.

» Today I was able to participate in the monitoring activities of the Zona Luce project – said Caterina Gozzoli ASAG Director of the Catholic University of Milan – an activity that will try to understand what the project generates starting from the game of football that needs to be played well .. but also how what it generates may or may not continue over time, asking for strong synergies between institutions, between penal institutions, communities, social services and sports clubs ”.
