From Monday to Friday, from January 29 to February 26 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., the workshop “A touch to the meaning: ‘Let’s listen to the heart'” will be given, organized by Scholas Occurrentes Panama and the Ministry of Education from Panama, for free and in virtual methodology.
Aimed at teachers, the workshop seeks to provide them in an experiential way with tools that allow them to incorporate the Scholas methodology, resources based on listening, participation and play, into their classes.
The consequences linked to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in the interruption of more than half of the activities carried out by each person on a regular basis, including the closure of school facilities, which has led to the introduction of classes completely in virtual mode, an unprecedented event in Panama, which has certainly represented a challenge for the educational community.
Within this context, at Scholas we trust to rescue positive aspects and take advantage of the opportunities that have opened up during these months; it is an invitation to live the culture of encounter, to live educational spaces from listening to students, transforming their way of looking at and inhabiting time together.
For this, a space for teacher training based on play, art and thought will be created; and the look and methodology of Scholas will be presented, rethinking the teacher’s work and repositioning the student as the center of the process.
