Within the framework of the event «The Economy of Francesco» that takes place from 19 to 21 November, Scholas actively participates with the organization of the Scholas & INET online workshop entitled «A new education for a new economy», on Friday 20 November, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Rome time).

The workshop will develop various discussion topics such as globalization, finance, integral ecology and climate change, inequality and migration, among others.

The idea of the conversation with the young participants will be to avoid the academic and technical discussions, but to bring up to the session all the names, faces, experiences, and pains that express the consequences of an economy that has missed its roots and has promoted a «throw away culture», and to think all together which would be the best places to «point out» (taking the latin etymology of «insegnare», that is to guide and to point out towards something) new places where we can find beauty and meaning for a new economy with a new soul.

As discussants will participate Michael Spence, Nobel Prize Winner, Co-Chair, Commission on Global Economic Transformation; Nelson Barbosa, Professor at FGV and the University of Brasilia; Gael Giraud, Senior researcher at French National Centre for Scientific Research, Centre d’Economie de la Sorbonne, University of Paris, Paris School of Economics; Gael Giraud, Senior researcher at French National Centre for Scientific Research, Centre d’Economie de la Sorbonne, University of Paris, Paris School of Economics; Rob Johnson, President of the Institute for New Economic Thinking; Leonardo Becchetti, Professor of Political Economy at the Università di Roma Tor Vergata, and Luca Crivelli, Professor of Economics at the Professional University School of Italian Switzerland.
