The program, which will involve Reggio Calabria students aged between 15 and 17 years old from secondary schools in the area, will be held from July 5 to 9 at the Liceo Scientifico Statale «A. Volta» (Via Modena S. Sperato, 89133 Reggio Calabria).

But, if the city is new to Scholas activities, the high school Volta is not. In fact, already last May, through a project to support the emotional health of young people, two students and a teacher were invited to attend the event in which Pope Francis in person shared the results of the Scholas educational programs in the presence of ministers, teachers and young people from every corner of the five continents.

Scholas through this educational project seeks to bring young people closer to reality through a scheme that highlights the importance of participation and civic engagement, fostering a constructive approach to everyday problems in the community. Oriented to stimulate the participation of secondary school students, it favors the strengthening of their civic engagement on a broad theme chosen in the morning of the first day of activity by the young people themselves: the lack of opportunities – including employment – for young people living in the territory of Reggio Calabria.

On the last day of the program, the young people will present the projects they have created to local authorities.
