This Thursday, April 28 at 11:00 am, Santiago de Chile local time, there will be the official launch of the «Voces de Chile» project, an initiative that was born from the desire of two institutions, the Scholas Occurrentes Foundation and the Silva Catholic University. Henríquez, to create spaces for dialogue for the participation of adolescents and young people for the construction of solidarity, dignity and fairness in Chile.
As a society we are experiencing processes of profound changes that challenge us to dream and build fraternal and inclusive relationships. For these processes to be truly meaningful and transformative, the participation of everyone is required, not only in the formal instances of our representative democracy – exercising the right to vote – but also activating community participation at different levels. The processes that we currently live as a society would not have been possible without the stubborn hope of our adolescents and young people who decided to do their best to start this path allowing us to dream of a new Chile that gathers the best of what is ours and transforms what it prevents us from looking at ourselves as sisters and brothers.
This project, inspired by «El Sueño de Chile» by Cardinal Raúl Silva Henríquez, seeks to be a space for listening, dialogue and participation of adolescents and young people in the construction of this new stage of the country, contributing their views and proposals to those who They will deliberate our new constitution.
